Lessons

Sharing the love of music is why I teach. I hope to pass along the musical wisdom I’ve Linda_glasses_1areceived from my many musical mentors, and the amazing artists I’ve had the honor to perform with.  Some of my students have gone on to fame and fortune, and some just love being able to play their favorite song on their own piano at home. Whatever your musical goal is, I can help you develop your talent, and have fun doing it! Contact me if you are interested in having lessons in any of the following areas:

  • Piano/keyboards
  • Voice/Vocal Coaching
  • Songwriting/Lyrics
  • Beginner Guitar/Ukulele/Bass
  • Music Theory & Reading Sheet Music

Lessons are usually taught at student’s homes; lesson length and price varies with student age, experience, and goals (30min, 45min, 60min.) Skype/Facetime lessons are also available. All ages taught (from 5-85!)

Linda Good ~ Music Teacher Bio:

Linda is a professional musician, composer and music educator, with over 18 years experience. After attending The Chicago Academy of Performing Arts, and then studying Music Education at the University of Illinois, she started teaching students of all ages in piano, voice, music theory and jazz improvisation at the Bloom School of Jazz in Chicago. She also was a Music Director/Pianist for The Second City Theatre, The Gridiron Show and for The Columbia College Music Department. A move to Los Angeles in 2000 saw her performance career skyrocket, as she toured the world as a professional keyboardist/pianist/backup singer with many well-known bands (Jane’s Addiction, Lisa Marie Presley, The Mars Volta, Stew) performing in large halls such as Madison Square Garden and Hollywood Bowl. (see more photos here).

She often performs with her alt-pop own band, The Twigs, and has produced several CDs, from which many of her songs have been heard in many TV shows and films, including Entourage, True Blood, Gossip Girl, and in the Sundance Award-winning film, American Teen. Her voice and music production can be heard on many commercials including: Glasses.com, Wal-mart, Haribou, Florida Travel Board, and more.

Now, Linda is an in-demand composer, studio musician, producer, and teacher of piano, voice, ukulele/guitar and songwriting coach. She uses a combination of old-school methods (scales and music theory) with contemporary styles (jazz improvisation, pop and rock music) to connect with students’ love of music. Linda believes lessons should be fun, and uses everything from “Mozart to McCartney to Metallica”, to teach students how to play music, not just how to read notes on a page.

Her love of teaching children also led to her own band doing a special “family music” CD called “Jump Right In”, which is very popular among “cool kids’ music” fans of all ages, and rose to the top of Kid’s Music Lists everywhere.

An accomplished songwriter and composer, Linda’s wide experience enhances her teaching style. Her own solo CD, “Love is a Curious Thing”, features the hit “Love Is…” She co-wrote the new musical LadyShip, which was an Official Grand Jury Selection of the New York Musical Festival, and made its debut in July 2019, at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theater in NYC.

A multi-instrumentalist, she plays piano, keys, vocals, guitar, ukulele, bass and percussion.
